Professional Learning Communities are an invaluable experience to grow professionally and build a sense of community with colleagues. You form a group, identify a topic, coordinate dates and times. If you’d like MESPA to apply for CEUs for you, the group has to meet for a total of 6 hours throughout the course of the year (for example, 4 times for 1.5 hours each). Then, send Christine a brief outline of what you plan to learn and talk about. When your 6 hours are done, send Christine an attendance sheet. This is a great way to earn 6 CEUs while learning about what you care about and building a community of support.

What: All teachers develop classroom management plans that work well for many students—but what’s happening day to day throughout the school year?

Are you noticing patterns where students are increasingly struggling with behavior and social skills? It may be time to “flip” behavior before it begins to impact teaching and learning.

In this course, participants will explore practical, research-based strategies they can implement immediately in their schools.

      Strategies you'll walk away with:

      • Identify interventions that support all students
      • Learn tools and strategies to better support both students and staff in managing behavior
      • Explore classroom best practices for supporting students with mental health needs
      • Develop a school-wide process to support families facing social and emotional challenges
      • Examine the staff environment and apply best practices for adult self-care
      • Strengthen social, emotional, and behavioral outcomes as a foundation for academic and life success
      • Foster a positive, predictable, and nurturing environment for staff, students, and families
      • Address discipline disparities and disproportionality in special education
      • Support and maintain the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities
      • Equip teachers with effective tools to support social-emotional development and behavioral functioning
      • Increase student engagement and improve academic achievement

This year-long experience focuses on empowering excellence by strengthening school culture, improving systems, and growing as a lead learner and instructional leader. Through collaborative learning, expert facilitation, and peer networking, participants will gain strategies to:

            • Foster a thriving school culture that promotes trust, engagement, and student success.

            • Refine and improve school systems to create efficiency and lasting impact.

            • Lead with confidence in instruction and learning, supporting teacher growth and student achievement.

            • Sustain momentum and avoid leadership burnout by building a strong professional network.

This program is rooted in the philosophy of "Becoming while Doing," recognizing that leadership development is an ongoing journey. As early career principals, Elevate Your Leadership provides the space, support, and inspiration to empower you to excel at the next stage of your leadership journey.
