State and federal laws require licensed school administrators to have the skills and knowledge needed to meet the needs of English learners. What does this mean in these challenging times?

This workshop will help leaders understand how to:

  • Identify distance and hybrid program models that develop language proficiency and promote academic achievement
  • Expand family engagement strategies
  • Ensure effective and equitable educational opportunities
  • Combine funding to implement state and federal requirements

Participants will have opportunities to network and receive feedback on their programming practices.

This FREE training for elementary and middle-level principals will meet the EL requirement for teacher re-licensure. 3 BOSA CEUs will also be awarded.

About the presenter:

Dr. Amy Young is currently the EL Specialist for School Support at the Minnesota Department of Education and works with schools all over the state to develop effective programming for multilingual learners. Previously, she has been an Elementary Principal, Director of Teaching and Learning, EL Coordinator, and has taught at the UMN and NYU.
