MESPA Day at the Capitol 3/21/19!

Join us for MESPA's Day at the State Capitol: Thursday, March 21st!

Make your voice heard. Join MESPA legal and legislative counsel Roger Aronson for the MESPA Day at the Capitol! 

• Meet with legislators and share your opinions on policy
• Attend committee meetings to learn what's going on in education policy
• Go on a Capitol tour led by Roger – you've never seen the Minnesota State Capitol like this!
• Make your voice heard! Legislators won't know what's going on in schools unless you tell them. Your voice is important: You can't make an impact if you don't show up!

Who should attend?
All MESPA members are invited to attend this event. School leaders from underrepresented groups, including people of color, the LGBTQ community, and women, are especially encouraged to attend.

Tentative Schedule
A detailed schedule will be shared as we finalize details. The tentative schedule is as follows:

• 7:45am - Meet group at MESPA Office if taking public transportation
• 8:45am - Meet group in 400 North State Office Building (see map)
• 9-9:45am - Meet with various state and local representatives and get the inside scoop on the legislative process! (400 North State Office Building)
• 9:45am - Sit in on House Education Finance Committee Meeting (5 State Office Building) 
• 11am - Continue to meet with various state and local representatives. Lunch is provided. (400 North State Office Building
• 12pm - After lunch, get a personal tour of the Capitol building from Roger Aronson himself!
• 2pm - wrap up and head home!

Getting to the Capitol
