Are you in a PBIS rut? Have your teachers reverted to reactive discipline? Would you like to reset the mindset of your educators to a more proactive approach to PBIS?

Join us! This seminar will enhance what you already know about PBIS and focus on five key strategies to creating a school culture that allows the PBIS structure to really work!

Session focus

The focus of this seminar will be on the proactive, systematic components that are put in place to decrease the likelihood that problem behaviors will occur. You’ll hear from a school principal and a practicing school psychologist about their successes and challenges in implementing and maintaining school wide PBIS in their schools.

Goals of the session include:

  • Developing a deeper understanding of proactive behavioral instruction;
  • Enhancing the structure necessary for school wide PBIS in a multi-tiered model of instruction; and
  • Understanding the importance of mindset in all aspects of school wide PBIS.

Who should attend?
School teams at any stage of PBIS implementation are welcome to attend. Practitioners with an entry level understanding will benefit from the emphasis on core principles of school wide PBIS. Practitioners with implementation experience will benefit from retooling the proactive teaching mindset. All participants will benefit from access to the presenters’ website, which is designed to support PBIS implementation at the building and district levels.

Session format

The seminar will flow from establishing a core understanding of the importance of a proactive mindset to a review of structure. It will culminate in guided time for teams to apply the information gained throughout the day with the ultimate goal of enhancing and strengthening the culture in their own building.

Attendees will not leave disappointed. Kevin's extensive knowledge of behavior, coupled with Ann's day-to-day experience in building a culture that allows the PBIS structure to work, will provide attendees with proven actions and strategies to truly change the mindset of the adults who work in an educational setting.
