MESPA Day at the Capitol!

Join us for MESPA's Day at the State Capitol: Thursday, March 15th!

Make your voice heard. Join MESPA legal and legislative counsel Roger Aronson for the MESPA Day at the Capitol! 

• Meet with legislators and share your opinions on policy
• Attend committee meetings to learn what's going on in education policy
• Go on a Capitol tour – you've never seen the Minnesota State Capitol like this!
• Make your voice heard! Legislators won't know what's going on in schools unless you tell them. Your voice is important: You can't make an impact if you don't show up!

A tentative schedule is below. The schedule may change slightly but we will keep you updated.

Note that The State Office Building where we will be meeting in the morning is a separate building from the State Capitol. Click here to view a map of the State Capitol Complex. The State Office Building is southwest of the Capitol Building, and just north of the Transportation Building. 

If you are taking public transit with us:

• 6:45 - Arrive at MESPA office (Meet at the main TIES building entrance under the skyway) if you plan to take the Bus/Green Line (Bring $2.50 cash for fare each way, $5 total)
• 6:45 am - Depart from MESPA office (busses depart at 6:48, 6:58, & 7:01am)
• ~7:30 am - Arrive at Capitol

7:45am - Meet with Chair of Education Committee - Sondra Erickson (State Office Building, Ground Floor, Room 10)

8:15am - Sit in on Education Committee Meeting (State Office Building, Ground Floor, Room 10)

10:00am - Meet with various Representatives (schedule TBD; State Office Building, 4th floor, Room 454)

11:00am -  Lunch (provided by MESPA; State Office Building, 4th floor, Room 454)

12:00pm - Capitol Tour

1:00pm -TBD (Hearings/Committee Meetings or head home)

If you'll be meeting us at the Capitol, meet the group at Room 10, Ground floor, State Office Building (100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Saint Paul, MN 55155) at 7:30-7:40.
