Principal Jimmy Casas (@casas_jimmy) will kick us off on Wednesday with "Leading Change to Move Beyond the Status Quo." Casas has over 22 years of experience as an educational leader, has won several awards (2012 Iowa Principal of the Year, 2015 Bammy Award for National Secondary Principal of the Year), and currently serves as the Senior Fellow for the International Center for Leadership in Education.

Dr. Yvette Jackson (@yjacksonNUA) will wake us up on Thursday morning with her presentation on "Transforming Education for Equity through the Pedagogy of Confidence." Dr. Jackson is internationally recognized for her work in assessing the learning potential of disenfranchised urban students. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Urban Alliance for Effective Education and is an adjunct professor at Columbia University.

Principal Gerry Brooks (@gerrybrooksprinwill close out Institute with a humor-filled talk about leading all staff in a positive and constructive manner. Brooks currently serves as an elementary principal in Lexington, Kentucky and works to spread humor in the world of education through his YouTube channel

#2 - Literacy Unleashed Book & Breakfast Club - 10:15am, Feb 7th
Get to Institute early and join literacy gurus Bonnie Houck & Sandi Novak for a Book & Breakfast Pre-Conference session. Learn more about how to ensure high-quality reading instruction using the Literacy Classroom Visit Model. Bring a copy of your book and earn 5 CEUs! Add this add-on within your registration for $15. Your copy of Literacy Unleashed can be purchased HERE. This session is for both beginners and return participants! Even if you attended last year, this session will be expanded for your learning.
