Trauma is the root cause of many of the most challenging behaviors schools deal with every day. This highly interactive training will prepare principals and school staff to effectively serve and understand this population.

Workshop Goals
This workshop will progress from the foundational knowledge of trauma to practical applications for effective trauma-responsive practices in schools to assist students affected by trauma. Attendees will develop an understanding of neurological and psychological development, learn how to create effective learning environments that support the needs of traumatized children, and come away with tools and strategies to immediately apply to their buildings in order to achieve continuous improvement and accountability. In addition, numerous interactional, instructional, and visual classroom management strategies will be presented.

"Danielle is an amazing educator who believes in the growth and development of ALL kids! She is wise, centered and REAL in her expectations of others and of herself. Those who get a chance to work with Danielle are lucky and will, undoubtedly, grow professionally in their ability to meet the varying and ever-changing needs of our students!."

- Beth Svenby, Owatonna Public Schools

In order to establish effective interactions the adults, not our students, must make the initial adjustments. Educators must learn how to understand the experience of these children in order to better serve them. This training covers all of these components for those working with our most vulnerable children. It is highly interactive with videos, music, and discussion to increase the level of impact and application.

Who should attend?
This training is right for school leaders and staff at all stages of their journey to address trauma in their schools. The first half of the training will address the foundations leaders need to know to start addressing trauma. In the afternoon, attendees will learn how to apply the morning's lessons to their schools.
