Introducing our 2022 Thought Leaders!

Adam Welcome

Adam was Principal of the Year for his region, a 20 To Watch for the National School Board

Association, guest blogger for EdWeek, NAESP magazine, and many other publications. Adam is passionate about technology integration with all educators and a huge advocate of social media and connecting with other educators from across the country. Adam makes it clear that kids come first and has preached the message of Team Kid for many years.He is also the co-founder of Kids Deserve It, the author of "Run Like a Pirate," "Empower Our Girls," and "Teachers Deserve It."

Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings

Gloria Ladson-Billings is the former Kellner Distinguished Chair of Urban Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. 
Her area of expertise is culturally relevant pedagogy and equity focused instruction. She is author of the critically acclaimed book, "The Dreamkeepers: Successful Teachers of African American Children" as well as 2 other single authored books, 10 edited books, and more than 100 journal articles and book chapters. She is the recipient of 9 honorary degrees from US and international universities.

Dr. Brad Gustafson

Dr. Brad Gustafson is an award-winning principal, best-selling author, speaker, and avid reader. He understands the critical role leaders play in creating the conditions where everyone in a school can be successful.

Brad's newest book The 6 Literacy Levers, is a practitioner-friendly guide to leading a culture of reading--from anywhere in your school or organization. He also wrote Reclaiming Our Calling and Renegade Leadership. All of Brad's books are built on the belief that everything we do starts with relationships and connectedness.

The MESPYs Awards Ceremony is the premier celebration event for elementary and middle-level school leaders in Minnesota. Join us at the Lakes Ballroom in the Radisson Blu Mall of America on Thursday, Feb. 3 at 5:30pm for appetizers and an awards ceremony. Wondering about the parking situation? Click here for details about parking on-site. We recommend parking in either the East or West Ramps of the Mall of America for free overnight parking. If you do park overnight at one of the MoA ramps you must fill out a form sharing information about your car with the hotel when you check in.
