Hopkins schools feted for their health focus
Three Hopkins elementary schools have received national Bronze Awards from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation for their focus on healthy eating and physical activity:  Eisenhower Elementary-XinXing Academy (Terri Siguenza, principal), L.H. Tanglen Elementary (Gail Lewis-Miller, principal) and Meadowbrook Elementary (Greta Evans-Becker, principal).

Representatives from the schools received the awards, Tuesday, June 15, 2010 in New York City.

This year the Alliance for a Healthier Generation honored 178 schools from across the country for their efforts to transform their schools into healthier place for students and staff. The three Hopkins elementary schools and the Hopkins High School were the only Minnesota schools to receive national recognition for their efforts.
