Note from Jayne Ropella on 8/26/09:  I am looking for volunteers to host a meeting and volunteers to bring snacks.  Please e-mail me if you are willing to host or bring snacks and tell me the date.  I will plan the May 13th celebration.  Please mark your calendars now and I will send an invite prior to each meeting via e-mail.  Please accept or decline at that point so we make sure there are enough snacks.

I am arranging for you to receive administrative clock hours.  Remember these are our meetings and we determine the agenda.  Please send me your ideas for agendas for the year.  I am looking forward to another great year working with some of the most talented administrators I know.  Have a great start to your school year!

Dec. 1, Randolph Heights
Our second PLC of the year is Tues. Dec. 1st at Randolph Hieghts from 4:00-5:30.  Nancy Flynn and Bobbie Evanglelist will provide snacks, thanks! Remember this is our meeting and our agenda.  Brings ideas and we will
discuss what we want to do this year.

Karen Randall, Intern at Expo is taking a staff development class with Jennifer York-Barr at the University of Minnesota.  She has a class assignment to survey a team of educators about the adherence to National
Staff Development Council Standards by their district, then discuss with them the results and possible follow-up actions.  She will use of a couple minutes to remind people what the standards are, ten minutes to answer
questions individually at the end of the meeting, then maybe half an hour for discussion from 5:30-6:00.  It seems like St. Paul is making a significant effort in some areas relating to staff development while others are more challenging.  She is interested in the reality check provided by principals in the field as well as your perceptions about ways to make positive change.   This part of the meeting is optional to help Karen do her assignment.
