2010 Statewide MESPA Officer Elections for NAESP State Representative
It is time to elect a new MESPA NAESP State Representative. The success of our association begins with the election of quality leadership. Exercise your membership right and vote for the MESPA candidate you believe will best represent your needs as an elementary or middle level principal, and who will continue to assist in the development of strong association programs within the framework of our strategic goals. Electronic ballots will go out February 19, 2010.

Term of office
The new MESPA NAESP State Representative will take office July 1, 2010 and their three-year term will run through July 30, 2013.

Election procedure
The election will be conducted in accordance with our bylaws (article V, section 2). This will be our first electronic MESPA election. A link to the electronic ballot will be e-mailed from the MESPA office to all active MESPA members on Friday, Feb. 19, 2010.  Completed ballots are due back in the office by 4:30 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010. They will be tabulated electronically and verified by the MESPA Election Committee on Monday, March 1. Election results will be announced on the MESPA Web site, in the MESPA E-News, and in the May MESPA Advocate.

Meet the candidates
Meet the candidates at the 2010 MESPA Institute: Sheraton Bloomington Hotel, 7800 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN.  Both candidates will speak briefly during the MESPA Annual Meeting on Friday morning, February 5, 2010. The Annual Meeting is held from 8-9:45 a.m.

Summary of Responsibilities:
--Three year commitment.
--Limited to two terms, by MESPA bylaws.
--Elected MESPA officer.
--Member of the MESPA Board of Directors.
--Member of the MESPA Executive Committee.
--Chair of the MESPA National Distinguished Principal (NDP) selection committee (committee comprised of Division presidents and current NDP).
--Ex-Officio member and officer liaison to the MESPA Membership committee.
--Liaison between NAESP and MESPA members.
