The University of Minnesota College of Education and Human Development publishes ResearchWorks monthly during the academic year.  ResearchWorks reports on discoveries with practical implications for public policy and successful schools.

The December 2008 issue of ResearchWorks reports on associate professor Martha Bigelow's research with Somali immigrants. One of her primary findings concerns second-language oral acquisition by learners with little or no print literacy in their first language.
