(February 15, 2011 -- St. Paul)
  MESPA/MASSP Legislative Counsel Roger Aronson led the Minnesota Elementary School Principals' Association and Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals executive officers and Legislative committees in sharing the associations’ goals and our schools’ education stories at the Capitol.

For this joint advocacy opportunity, Aronson coordinated meetings with:
  • Rep. Sondra Erickson, Chair of the House Education Reform Committee;
  • Senator Gen Olson, Chair of the Senate Education Committee;  and
  • Rep. Pat Garofalo, Chair of the House Education Finance Committee.

The principals also met individually with their own legislators and attended the House Education Reform Committee meeting.

Their combined voices gave the legislators a perspective on the true state of Minnesota education, from the point of view of school leaders.
