MESPA is a collaborative, grassroots association serving Minnesota elementary and middle level principals. MESPA has represented Minnesota principals since 1950, and is affiliated with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and its 29,500 members nationwide.

MESPA supports its members with:
  • Professional development for professional leaders
  • Legal and legislative advocacy
  • Communications customized to the needs of education leaders
  • Honors, recognition, and public relations
  • Minnesota School of Excellence program grounded in national standards

MESPA spans the state with 12 regional divisions. For information on each division, visit the MESPA Division News section of this site.

You are represented by a Board of Directors that includes:
elected statewide representatives (president, president-elect, secretary/treasurer, past president, NAESP state representative)
and representatives from each division (presidents and presidents-elect).

Within that framework, MESPA has eight standing committees and a Federal Relations Coordinator.

Each committee has a chair appointed by the MESPA president and includes a representative selected by each division.
