Technology Strengthens Education
Attend 60-minute focus sessions presented by TIES staff throughout the day-long technology strand. Each session is offered twice.
  • Managing Bring Your Own Device Environments (BYOD). What you need to consider when opening up your school to BYOD for classroom instruction, including: policies, infrastructure, pedagogy, equity, and cross-platform models.
  • Dashboard: Being Efficient With Data. What is a data dashboard really? And how can it help? This session will explore considerations around data dashboards, analytic and predictive reports, and how to improve systems for tracking student performance data, and using it for timely instruction. the focus will be on how these technology tools fit within a systems-level problem solving model.
  • 21st Century Classroom (limited to first 20 participants). Classroom of the future with principals as students, transforming the learning environment with technology and flexible space to help differentiate instruction.  
  • Personalized Learning Plans. This session will address how technology can be used to help buildings create individualized plans for learning that monitor and inform instruction from preK through grade 3. The creation of intervention banks and linking assessment measures will be discussed.
  • iPad for Administrators: Getting to Know Your iPad. Tips and trick to make the most of Apps that came with your iPad.
  • iPad for Administrators: Taking It Up a Notch. Using your iPad for everyday productivity like document creation and sharing, personal learning network, teacher observation, data collection, streamlining workflow, etc.

PLUS the TIES Technology Playground: Demonstrations during Vendor Exhibit hours (Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 6-7) of key educational hardware.

PLUS focus sessions offered by MESPA members and other educators.
