Seela Science
was founded by two teachers over a decade ago, with serving student and teacher needs as their central focus. The author of Seela Science was recognized as Wal-Mart’s 2004 Teacher of the Year for Iowa.  He has served as a curriculum writer for the United States Space Foundation, and is a retired veteran of 36 years as a middle school, high school, community college and small college instructor. Seela Science has presented teacher workshops nationwide, and in 2007 was invited to present inquiry-based training in northeast China!

Seela Science recognized the need for better ways to get elementary and middle school science across to both teachers and students.  With this as their central focus, they have produced over 800 individual science concept-related hands-on activities.  Because these activities are “stand alone” concepts, they can be manipulated to fulfill ANY state or district’s K-8 science curriculum requirements.  This was done in the summer of 2009 to correlate to the new Minnesota Science Standards, including the Engineering and Technology threads and is currently being piloted in Minnesota by Perham-Dent Schools.

Seela Science firmly believes in the value of Professional Development trainings. Therefore, they offer numerous training options to help make Minnesota teachers the best they can be!
