Overview: Bullying on the school bus is a significant problem with damaging and far-reaching effects. These effects extend into the classroom, hamper learning and impact the safety of the school bus and the quality of a bus driver's experience. School bus bullying can be difficult to manage because it happens in an environment separate from school and home.
This web conference, co-sponsored by the National Association for Pupil Transportation and the Hazelden Foundation, gives an overview of school bus bullying and practical strategies to address it.
Objectives: Through participating in this web conference, participants will:
Gain a general understanding of school bus bullying.
Understand the unique challenges that occur in trying to address school bus bullying.
Receive concrete strategies for addressing the issue, including an overview of a program that has shown strong results in addressing school bus bullying, the Peaceful School Bus Program.
