Raven Stream Elementary
2011-2012 MESPA
MN School of Excellence,
New Prague Public Schools,
MN ISD # 721

“The credit for accomplishing MN School of Excellence validation goes to all of our talented and dedicated staff. The Raven Stream Elementary staff are all about doing what is best for our students.”

Pat Pribyl is the principal of Raven Stream Elementary School, located one mile west of New Prague, MN. Opened in 2006, the school serves 620 students in grades K-5. The building was designed to promote and facilitate opportunities for staff to collaborate and work together for the benefit of students and parents, with the media center serving as the heart and pulse of the school.

“The credit for accomplishing MN School of Excellence validation goes to all of our talented and dedicated staff,” said Pribyl. “The Raven Stream Elementary staff are all about doing what is best for our students.”

Raven Stream provides a balanced and traditional curriculum with an instructional emphasis to teach all students to be successful readers, writers, and mathematicians. The school offers additional programming for students who qualify for Special Education, ELL, or the Gifted and Talented programs. Another source of emphasis are grade level plays, music performances, sprint art show and family fun events. Community Education classes (science, art, Spanish, chess, Legos, crafts) are offered after school as fee-based options for students throughout the school year. All curricular offerings are designed to focus on the whole child.”

Raven Streams’ mission is to educate, inspire, and empower our students. Pribyl stated: “We believe it is important to guide our students to be respectful of others, to become independent learners, and work to their fullest potential. Our Raven Stream families are encouraged to be involved in their children’s education. We welcome parent volunteers to assist teachers with projects organizing materials, and tutoring students. Families are always welcome and encouraged to become involved in the Parent Advisory Council.”
