What is the role of schools in a pandemic?
A pandemic is a virulent global outbreak of a serious illness. Currently we are watching avian (bird) flu, which is caused by influenza viruses that occur naturally among wild birds. It has not yet spread to the United States, but if it does, we must have response plans in place.
