1/21/2008 12:05 PM

News from the Minnesota Department of Education:

The Minnesota Academic Excellence Foundation (MAEF) advocates, promotes and recognizes academic excellence in all Minnesota elementary and secondary students, schools, and communities. The following schools, with MESPA members as their principals, were awarded the 2007 MAEF School Spotlight Award in recognition of academic excellence and celebrate the success evidenced by their students’ achievements.

The award shines a spotlight on a school’s curriculum, instruction, assessment, and staff development that addresses student needs and works toward success for all. MAEF established this award program to identify schools that they believe demonstrate academic excellence through significant gains in student achievement, especially those that evidence “beating the odds.”All Minnesota schools that participate in Minnesota’s statewide assessments are eligible to apply. MAEF Board members will present a framed recognition certificate at each school.
