The mission of the Peace Maker Foundation is to give schools tools to stop violence. Their goal is for every school to have the resources it needs to teach kids how to resolve conflicts and to be a safe place where kids can learn and reach their potential. The Peace Maker Foundation is a federation of schools that raises contributions on behalf of the violence prevention programs of its members. Receiving funding through a partnership with the Peace Maker Foundation is different than receiving a grant. Schools need to be committed to working on an ongoing basis to help their students learn to be peacemakers. The federation doesn't make one-time grants. Any K-12 school located in Minnesota can become affiliated with the Peace Maker Foundation. The minimum funding a school can receive if $500; there is no maximum. In 2010, the Peace Maker Foundation distributed $83,000. Their goal for 2011 is $123,000! The first step in seeking funding is to complete a statement of interest form.
