Collaboration Strategies for Principals And Afterschool Program Directors
Aligning the Learning Day, a special pre-Institute conference offered through a partnership of MESPA, the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the Minnesota School-Age Care Alliance -- and made possible by a grant from the Mott Foundation.
This half-day conference will engage participants in activities and discussions that will provide a deeper understanding of their work and of the opportunities that are possible with greater collaboration.
Principal Patrick Bryan (St. Paul, MN) sees a strong correlation between students who consistently participate in afterschool programs and better social and academic behavior. “I’m seeing kids who do more writing,” says Bryan. “I’m seeing kids who are happier about being a Jackson student. It gives them a well-lit, ordered, clean, safe lace to extend their learning.”
