2008 Minnesota assessment results, release process
NEED HELP TALKING ABOUT MCA-II TEST RESULTS?
For a set of MCA-II talking points, scroll to the PDF at the bottom of this page.

NCLB Spring 2008 student assessment results available June 26.

Individual student results for the Title I and Title III assessment tests taken in Spring 2008 will be available next Thursday, June 26. This includes: MCA-II reading and math; MTELL math; MTAS reading and math. These will be embargoed assessment results, made available electronically to your district assessment coordinator (DAC). To find your assessment results, your DAC can direct you to your district’s Educator Portal and/or School House Web links. The fact that the results are embargoed means that they will be available to school districts early in the day, and later in the day your local media will have access. However, while the media may contact you with questions, they cannot publish (electronically or in print) any information about the assessments until the embargo is lifted on Monday, June 30, at 12:01 a.m. The embargo is being lifted and assessment results made available to the public early Monday morning. The intent is that results will be printed in the Monday paper, rather than the Sunday papers — and that schools will have more time to prepare for questions from your communities. MCA-II science and MTAS science results will be released August 15; please note that the science results are not used for AYP calculations.

Tentative AYP notification dates

School adequate yearly progress (AYP) results are being calculated by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) and may be retrieved, electronically, by schools on Monday, June 30. An appeals process will be in place from June 30-July 30.  On August 1, all schools’ AYP accountability status be will finalized and districts will be notified of results. Embargoed results may be retried by the superintendent on August 4. AYP results will be made public on Tuesday, August 5. Please note that these dates are tentative; if they are changed, MDE will notify districts of new dates as soon as possible.
